Welcome to a brand new week everyone, and the last week of August believe it or not! Looking into September, I'm getting kinda excited about fall fashions. Evenings are already requiring sweaters around here, and I can smell autumn in the air. On that note, here are 5 items that are definitely on my radar for fall:
The velvet slipper, or smoking slipper, is all the rage lately. Comfy and cute, I'm particularly smitten with those embroidered with a chic crest {like the ones below from Nine West!}. Preppy all the way.
I adore navy blazers! Just a tad softer than black, but still super classy. I picked up a schoolboy blazer from J. Crew on my recent trip to Seattle.
Animal print won't be going anywhere! Amazing how a dash of leopard never fails to make everything look fabulous.
I don't even need to justify this one. A smart coat completely speaks for itself, don't you think?
Last but not least, leather in general will be everywhere. Leather pants & leggings are smokin' - but if they scare you just a bit - you can also find fabulous coated jeans that look like leather, like these below from J Brand.
Any fall trends you can't wait to get into?

Girl! I am totally digging your trends. I need a navy blazer, statement coat and some leather leggings. Check, check and check.
I need some velvet slippers in my life! Comfy and cute? Yes please!
Nancy, I am with you 1000000% on all of these! Love them all!
Count me in for a statement coat! Love anything animal print so the leopard is right up my alley anyway. Good post!
LOVE, LOVE your blog!!! Would love it even more if you would promote animal friendly clothing more. It shouldn't be worth an animal's life for us "to be in style". Faux animal skins, etc are just as gorgeous. Even more so because they were created in order to save but mimic nature's beauty
Love the fall trends!
Gap has the velvet shoes as well and for a smokin good deal may have to get some. And just bought myself a leopard sweater!

I think your list is perfect! I'm really into the leather pants...but they are sooo expensive...so I'm exploring the faux option.....loving the loafers....I love the YSL take with the metal cap! yum! and lepard of course! Navy Blazer I have from years past. ANd a statement coat would be fab. as well. Love all your photos. So excited for tehf all weather!
I love when you post fashion trends cause they really inspire me. I'm horrible at trying to put an outfit together!!! It was really nice seeing you on Saturday. I'm heading out now to try to find a cute little blazer like the one Gwenyth is wearing. Have a great week!
For someone like me who can be fashionably challenged, this is perfect. I LOVE the velvet slipper and navy blazer. I did just purchase calf hair leopard print shoes! And a tweed jacket....looking forward to wearing them. Just need a new statement coat!
Such a great post! Smoking slippers are definitely on the top of my wishlist for fall and I've also had my eye on the ones from Nine West! Instead of pants, I'm looking to add a leather skirt to my wardrobe, but haven't yet found one I'm in love with. And statement coats? The ones pictured are lovely!

I'm so into the blazer and velvet slippers. I can't pull off the leopard print though ;) those coats are spectacular. Bring on fall!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this fall's trend! I got a pair of leather pants from zara 2 seasons ago and still loving them! Can't wait to wear them again :) Olivia palermo is honestly one of my favorite people out there....she is so elegant, chic and sophisticated! And her bf is gorgeous!
Definitely a statement coat and maybe faux leather jeans...but no leopard!
I am in for the coat, the leopard, and the navy blazer!
I love every outfit you posted, Nancy! I seriously want everything in this post. Is it fall yet?
I really love the leopard style dress and even though most of the Black Leather Trench Coat For Men are still fashion in cwmalls.com
You are so spot on!!! I'm happy to report that all I'm missing is a statement coat.... This season shouldn't be too hard on the wallet :)
